Surfers Paradise is most famous for its tourist
theme parks, making it the most popular destination for families
in Sydney and Melbourne. Although it can be too expensive to
visit all the theme parks, going to one of them for a day is
compulsory.

said that this was the best of the Gold Coast Theme Parks. Huge
area filled with roller coasters, water sports and animals. Be

Warner Bros Movie World:
A huge theme park that attracts
more people than any other Gold Coast attraction. Slide on the
water slides, take a ride on the batman simulator, watch a show.
This theme park has the best parts of the others in one. |

Carlton and United Brewery
Tour: Pacific Highway +Mulles Rd,

makers of beer is Carlton and United Brewery. Learn about the
history of Australian beer, watch the 1100 stubbies made here
every minute, then relax with some free beer in their licensed
bar. Very popular with young backpackers. Tours are held 10am,

Surfers Paradise Beach: One of the most famous beaches in the world, the
fantastic surf is churned out here daily. There is bogeyboard
and surfboard hire on the corner of Cavill Av & the Esplanade.
There is a website at www.coastalwatch.com.au that shows the beach every 5 minutes daily. The
Islander Backpacker Resort mentioned in the accommodation section
is the base for Gold Coast Surfing Schools Australia. For $40
(discounts for VIP and YHA members) you get a surfing lesson
and free use of surfboard, for those who do not know how to.
Warning:- The water off Surfers Paradise can be very dangerous
with strong tides. Take notice of the flags on the beach. Green
flag - Safe to swim in flagged area Red flag - Do not enter the
water Yellow - Danger, swim with caution Red and Yellow - Danger,
only swim between the red and yellow flags. |

Esplanade: Every Friday night the
Crn of Cavill Av and the Esplanade hold a market open to everyone.
The many coloured lights give it a carnival atmosphere, where
food, clothes and jewellery can be bought. |

Magical Mystery Tour: Easily the most fun to be had in Surfers Paradise.
For just $10 you get free entry to all the nightclubs the double
decker bus goes to. Also includes free drinks which adds to the
crazy atmosphere, where friends are made. All hostels mentioned
