Big Buddha beach on Koh Samui is a good place to stay if you want to visit the FULL MOON Party on Koh Phangan. There's a direct ferry three times a day and speedboats all nighton the party date. It's quieter for staying than the party beaches and you can recover in comfort the next day.
Shambala Bungalows on Big Buddha is a nice place with rooms for 300 baht right on the beach.

Travel from China to Thailand
I am trying to plan a trip (not for me, I would rather just go and see what happens) from Hong Kong, where I will be living for the next 9 months, to Bangkok, Thailand, and I would like to get there for little money. I was thinking about taking a train, or trains as would be more likely the case, and I would like to know if you have any information on that sort of thing it would be greatly appreciated.

Editorial
Traveling from HK to Bangkok overland is one of the most exciting but hard trip. It will be at least 1 month journey not stopping so much between HK and Bangkok. There are trains running from Beijing to Hanoi(I think twice a week.) I am not sure how you can take this line from HK. From Hanoi you can take trains or buses to Saigon, then travel to Phnom Penh by bus or boat+bus, then probably to Siem Reap by bus or boat, then to Thailand by bus. You probably can get all information from our Vietnam Cambodia and Thailand edition.

Journey from Bangkok to Singapore
I looking to find out how much it would cost for a bus journey from Bangkok to Singapore, that would allow me to hop on and off along the way.

Editorial
There is no direct bus journey. It will takes 3 days if you take one. It is much cheaper to fly from BKK to Singapore. It is sometime $50. If you really want to stop over on the way, give me a mail again.

Any good place to leave my computer?
I will be traveling in Thailand for 3-4 weeks. I am a photojournalist and I will have my laptop and film scanner w/ me. I would like to store it in the airport in Bankok in a REALLY safe place. Cost almost not an object, i don't want to risk getting it stolen but i have to have it for Europe and to scan and do business as well. Any suggestions??

Editorial
The most reliable place in BKK should be luggage deposit at BKK airport. But it is not so cheap like ones in Khaosan Rd. BKK's charges 70B/day. many places in Khaosan Rd. charge 10-20B/day. But management is not good at all. If you are carry precious good, I feel very uneasy to leave it at ones in Khaosan Rd area.

Malaria Pills?
We are staying for 2 days in Siam Reap and 2 days in Phnom Penh. Do we need Malaria prophylax or only stand by pills.
Editorial
Phnom Penh in Cambodia, are probably Ok for Malaria, however I have heard that many travelers got Malaria in Seam Reap. But it is very hard to say that you have to take the pills or not, because the pills are also not good for our health either. I think it is totally upto you. I visited Seam Reap twice in the dry season. I took extra caution to avoid mosquito bits. If you use spray and maintain your health properly, I think you don't have to take the pills. But if you want to visit in the rainy season for a short period, it is not so bad idea to take pills.

Cambodia to Vientam
I wish to know if I could pass from Cambodia, near 'kompot' in the south, to the Vietnam side to, Hha-tian', by boat. and another thing if I can pass the border between Vietnam/China near 'Lao-cai' (in the vietnam side)to 'Hekou' (in the China side)

Editorial
Regarding to your question, we are not sure where you want to travel from Cambodia to Vietnam. But it is possible to travel from the two country by boat on Mekong River. Please visit Narin GH in Phnom Penh. They organize the boat trip.
