Ticket inspectors like to fine tourists for even minor infringements
- incorrect ticket validation, not having a ticket for luggage.
This researcher was fined 700sk for not validating the ticket
correctly (upside down), I said I didn't think I should have
to pay as I hadn't cheated. The inspectors threatened to take
me to the Police Station - and 1000sk fine, I agreed to go, however
they then walked away so I didn't pay anything. On the same day
I talked to 2 Americans who had also been fined - ticket not
validated and no luggage ticket - paid around $50 each, which
was too much. Inspectors will often ask for your passport, try to avoid handing it over to them. |
