Reserving train tickets is easier and quicker at Orbis travel agency. Staff speak English. Krakow 3.5 hr, Czestochowa 6 hrs, Olsztyn 13 hrs, Katowice 5 hrs, Warszawa 6 hrs. Poznan 12 hrs. Border town - Lysa Polana: 2.80zl, Many 6:10-7:30, Poprad (Slovakia): 10zl, High Season 2/day 7:20, 13:05, Low Season: Th,F,Sa, Su 10:45 (Please confirm because there are only 2 buses/week going the opposite way according to staff at the Poprad bus station). Border crossing Slovakia/Poland via Javorina/Lysa Polana Can take bus from Poprad, Stary Smokovec or Tatranska Lomnica to the border (Javorina) Lysa Polana. from Poprad the ticket costs: 33sk, 6sk for large luggage. The last stop is in a parking area, continue walking along the main road, cross a small bridge, you'll pass through customs - banks are operating on both sides of the border. From the Polish side there are regular public buses to Zakopane - 3.20zl. or you can take one of the many private minibuses waiting there - 4zl. The route is scenic,through many mountain villages. There is also a bus directly from Poprad to Zakopane, it leaves daily during the high season and holidays at 16:50, on Th, Sa 6:00, it stops in the high Tatras on route. |
