Located 144km from Praha (2-3hrs), 100km from Brno, close to the Austrian border. Founded in 1265 by Pfemysl Otakar II, king of Bohemia. Ceske Budejovice, the capital of South Bohemia, is a relaxing Czech city with an attractive medieval town center. World famous as the home of the original Budvar (Budweiser) beer.
