Eating is one of the highlights of a visit
to Singapore there's lots of variety of delicious, reasonably
priced dishes. There are many supermarkets with excellent selections of imported & prepared foods, sushi etc. Great for picnics. |

A great Singaporean tradition you can find
throughout the city. These centers are packed with a variety
of food stalls with communal seating areas. The food is hygienic, tasty and cheap, often less than S$3. Some are in the open air, some cramped into basements of building complexes or the 1st F of Residential Housing Complexes. All of the shopping centers have food courts - a sanitized version of hawker centers. Guide book to Hawer Food - 'The Guide to Singapore Hawkers', James Hoi, available from bookstores. |
