Airport Tax $15 (included in price of flight ticket), 2 terminals are connected by free monorails. Excellent facilities, Shopping Center, Post Office, internet cafe, McDonald, etc. Recommended as a good place to sleep. Lots of local students come here to 'study' because it is so comfortable. City Transport
Singapore has an excellent transport system.
Transit Link Guide S$1.50, from bookshops, lists all bus & MRT map, routes and fares.
Tourist Day Ticket 1-day travel pass up to 12 rides for buses/MRT = S$10, Covers MRT and bus services.
Tourist Card: Prepaid card with which you can get cheaper fare for the city buses and MRT.
EZ link Card: good for MRT and bus. 10% cheaper on bus. S$15 value card allows to travel S$7 value + refundable value S$3, non refundable $5. When you used S$7, you store more value. Since S$5 is non refundable, not so useful unless you stay in Singapore for long time.
MRT: Mass Rapid Transport Underground system. Operates 5:30-0:30. 2 main lines covers most of the tourist area. fares S$0.70-1.60
Bus: Extensive service. Operates 6-midnight.
Non a/c(not many) 60c-S$1.20. a/c S$0.70-1.50, NO CHANGE given. The fare depends on the distance. At major bus top the fare charts are displayed. Normally you can ask to the drivers and pay by cash or put the card to the machine and select the zone you are traveling. You must retain the ticket.
SIA HOP ON: Tourist bus service route: Orchard Road, Bugis Junction, Suntec City, Colonial District, Boat Quay, Chinatown, Botanical Gardens.
Stopover passengers
