Cambodia is many things to different people. For me it's a magnet that keeps drawing me back to sample a heady mix of history, tragedy, culture, artistry and above all, the warmth and genuine welcome of the Khmer people.
My interest in Cambodia grew out of the horror stories of the 1970s but it wasn't until 1994 that I set foot in the country. A trip later this year will be my fifth in as many years and a chance to sample some of the more off-beat locations that most visitors don't venture to.
