or visit hill tribe villages. The further you go, the more authentic
villages you can visit. Head to Thongnanoi villages where
8.5km from Chiang Khong. You can visit some more villages as

Giant Catfish "Pia Buek":
Largest fish in Mekong. 300kg and 3m. During dry season, the
water level of Mekong drops and the width if the river becomes
very narrow, 200m. Then the fishing season starts. People believe
that eating this fish meat gives longer life.The fish is sacred,
fish men's rituals can be observed before, during and after the
